Montessori Stamp Game – Dynamic Multiplication Lesson Activity

ACTIVITY: The Stamp Game – dynamic multiplication
MATERIALS: Box of stamps.
A set of 2cm squared stamps: Green stamps marked 1, blue stamps marked 10, red stamps marked 100, green stamps marked 1000.

Prepared addition sum cards
Green, red and blue pencils or markers

A table mat.

OBJECTIVES: To give the child further practise in recording his answers.

To give the child an understanding of the process of multiplication (repeated addition).

To help the child to memorise his multiplication tables.

To show the child how to change hierarchies when 9 of a number category is reached.

CONTROL OF ERROR: The answer on the back of the sum card.

The Multiplication Summary Chart to check individual sums.

AGE: 5 – 5 ½ years approx.
